PAINTED KITCHEN DOORS
Our designers can create a truly unique kitchen for your home where you can have any combination of finish and style you require.
Painted kitchen doors can manufactured in any of three ways:
- By using a timber and finishing it to the required colour, this method generally is used to accentuate the existing grain of the wood below
- By using a paintable vinyl wrapped door and finishing it to the required colour, this will reduce the cost slightly as vinyl wrapped doors are more cost effective to produce, however, the grain effect will no longer be apparent
- By using an MDF door (patterned as required) and finishing it to the required colour, this is the most cost effective way, however, the grain effect will no longer be apparent and there are added risks involved as the MDF panel used for the door must be prepared correctly before the final colour is applied. I would only recommend this method if it is being carried out by a professional manufacturing/finishing company and not by the retailer or by the customer.
Kitchens with painted doors can be designed in a number of styles from contemporary living to traditional country cottage. The flat slab styles lend themselves towards to the modern design, whereas the more detailed designs with raised centre panels and profiled frames are more suited towards the traditional market. The shaker design (square with a recessed centre panel) is probably the most versatile of all of the timber door styles as this can be accommodating towards either a modern or traditional kitchen design, as long as the appropriate accessories are used to compliment the kitchen.
ACRYLIC KITCHEN DOORS
Although acrylic kitchen doors are a more expensive option than the vinyl equivalent, you can now obtain that avant-garde high quality kitchen look WITHOUT having the inflated costings of one of the branded named kitchens
All of our acrylic kitchen (and bedroom) doors and accessories are made to the highest standard using the most upto date CNC technology and manufacturing processes. Having to adhere to regulations such as; BS 6222 : part3, BS EN 312, BS EN 622, FIRA standard 041, FIRA standard 048, FIRA standard 6250 and also FIRA Gold, vinyl wrapped doors are also one of the safest types of doors to have in your kitchen.
The ‘Zurfiz’ door range by BA for example is manufactured using 18mm MDF and all come with a silver reverse. The surface finish across the range is a mix of acrylic and PVC materials, to ensure durability, quality and a high specification finish, the edging is applied using PUR (Poly Urethane Reactive) glue with a much higher heat and moisture resistance than not hot melt glues.
This stunning and comprehensive range (which also comes made-to-measure) of ultra-modern doors is available in Ultragloss solid colours, Ultragloss woodgrain colours and Metallic colours. To add to the choice and flexibility of our range the doors in some cases can be offered with 3 edge options, matching edge, brushed steel effect and a stunning glass 3D edge producing a deceptively real glazed appearance.
